Led the development team that designed the largest, most complex and functionally rich application in U.S. Coast Guard history. Currently finishing development of what is likely to become the largest unclassified database system in DHS. Winner of the U.S. Coast Guard’s CAPT Niels P. Thompson Innovation Award in 2005 for developing the Vessel Identification, Correlation, and Evaluation (VICE) System. This marked the first time that this national award was given to a contractor. Strong proponent of Joint Application Design (JAD)/Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodologies. Experience leading all phases of system design, development, and deployment, including business process re-engineering, requirements analysis, design, development, testing, training, and support. Operate my own Software Engineering consulting business, focusing on systems development and troubleshooting for machine automation and motion control in the manufacturing sector.
